pegoretti responsorium

i have to keep coming back to dario pegoretti again and again, i love the bicycles he creates. every last detail he has got down to perfection. i am a big fan of the distressed look on the paint job, layered on top of classic steel tubing the distinctive artwork looks to me to be inspired by the likes of jean michel basquiate and provides ideal contrast to the comparative minimalism of the enve forks and lightweight wheels.  pair this all up with campagnolo super record, what else?  and what, ladies and gentlemen, we are left with is, pound for pound, one of the most desirable and exotic road bikes on the planet.  the machine surely rides like a dream as machines produced by this master craftsman have done in the past for legends such as miguel indurian, marco pantani and stephen roche.  if i have to one day truley commit to buying my last ever bicycle then one of these would be up there as a main contender.

this particular example was assembled by above category cycling, one of northern california's most refined bike shops and sellers of not only pegoretti but also moots, baum and parlee.  sounds like a who's who of all my favourite custom bike builders.
