Paul Kimmage And Lance Armstrong Clash

This little crossing of swords between Sunday Times journalist Paul Kimmage and Lance Armstrong happened yesterday in a pre Tour of California press conference held in Sacramento, California.

(Correction to the You Tube title, Paul Kimmage is Irish not British as I'm sure Mr Kimmage would want pointing out.)

I cannot hear Kimmage's answer, does anyone have the words?

According to Cyclingnews.com Kimmage's response was this:

"You don't have a patent on cancer. I'm interested in the cancer of doping in cycling. That has been my life's work! I raced as a professional and I exposed it. Then you come along and the problem disappears."

Kimmage don't be a hater, your way out of line.

Life is occasionally fortunate to have people such as Paul Kimmage, i totally admire that man, how on earth can people swallow the St Lance routine, what an awful person he is!

Kimmage did a great job in exposing the doping culture, but his writing can now often be spiteful and vindictive. It is not brave, clever, or insightful to describe anyone in the terms that he did, and his rhetoric is now acting as a negative force against those who seek to remove doping from the sport.

Richard articulated some of Kimmage's faults quite clearly. I would add that his metaphorical use of a disease that is truly tragic on a human scale reflects a moral turpitude and desire for journalistic sensationalism that totally discredits Kimmage and his paper.

Before jumping on the Lance-wagon and condemning Kimmage for his condemnation of Lance, read the article to which Lance refers:

I found it here

If anything recent events support Kimmage's view. The much heralded press conferance announcing complete transparency and a couldn't be fudged testing program by anti doper Don Catlin. This week Lance announces the testing program is dead as it's too costly and the logistics too complicated.

Really?

Catlin is doing testing of the entire Garmin team and Lance the most financialy succesful cyclist of all time can't afford it?

I have seen the original full Youtube version of this verbal clash in which Paul Kimmage's verbal response to Lance Armstrong is clearly audible. However, for some reson Youtube saw fit to cut or distort the sound for his response, as well as disabling any comments on this Youtube video. You have to ask yourself what has Lance Armstrong to hide????

A year late with this comment but Kimmage is Irish if no one else said it. Not a Brit.
